These influencing factors are critical for furniture paint to change from oil to water!

  If an enterprise wants to change from oil-based paint to water-based paint, the choice of materials, construction environment, construction personnel, painting process, construction tools, and water-based paint products is the key!

  1. Material influence

  Some materials such as domestic masson pine, dark red fir, artificially colored plywood (such as black walnut, sapele, iron knife wood and other dark plates), etc., please pay attention to these phenomena when using water-based wood paint : ①Stretching tendons; ②Cracking of joints; ③Panning to yellowing.

  Under normal circumstances, loose materials are easy to swell, and those containing heavy tannins are easy to yellow. These are issues that cannot be completely overcome by single-component water-based wood lacquers at this stage.

  In addition, the moisture content of the material should be controlled between 8-12%. If the moisture content is too low, the material is easy to crack; if the moisture content is too high, the coating film is soft, easy to whiten or mold.

  2. Coating conditions

  The effect of temperature and humidity

  The best drying and film-forming temperature of water-based wood paint is 60-70°C. When the temperature is lower than 25°C, the drying time will actually increase with the temperature drop; when the temperature is as low as 0°C-8°C, the coating film is almost Non-drying or non-filming (refer to individual products). When the humidity is higher than 85%, the coating film will also appear non-drying, whitening and cracking.

  In view of the above requirements, when mass production needs to use water-based wood paint for painting, it is best to have a drying room with temperature and humidity control to avoid affecting the production progress and causing product defects due to low temperature and high humidity: White, dull, cracked, flash oil, etc.

  At the same time, it should be emphasized that every year from February to April, due to the changeable weather and a lot of rain, this period is the recovery of all organisms. During the production period, more attention should be paid to the moisture-proof, mildew-proof and anti-stickiness of the products.

  Influence of coating environment

  Mainly refers to the coating site, the site is not clean, dusty, poor ventilation, etc., will affect the surface effect after coating, such as roughness, poor leveling and no feel.

  Influence of coating equipment

  Mainly refers to the use of spray guns, pressure pumps, air pumps, etc.

  Remember to pay attention to cleaning the spray gun once a week. It is best to use the primer and topcoat guns separately. Unclean spray gun, unclean pressure pump and air pump will lead to poor surface effect of the coating film, such as variegated color and oil flashing, which will also cause the above phenomena. It is strictly forbidden to use an oil-based spray gun for the construction of water-based paint, which will easily lead to flash oil, thickening and even necrosis of the entire water-based paint.

  Influence of painting staff

  With skilled skills, ease of use, and careful treatment, I believe that the effect of painting will not disappoint you, so the skills and subjective awareness of the painting personnel are also very important in the entire painting process.

  The impact of product mismatch

  Due to the different water-based paint materials and formulations of each factory, some phenomena such as cracking, bottom bite, slow drying, thickening, pinholes, back sticking, flash oil, etc. may occur in the coating process of non-matching products. Please use matching products to improve the one-time pass rate.

  3. packing condition

  Generally speaking, it conforms to the drying temperature of 60-70°C. Please dry it for 4 hours after spraying the topcoat before packaging. When packaging, please use a thin sponge layer to separate the packaging to prevent sticking to each other under pressure for a long time.

  4. Finished product storage conditions

  Storage bins should be well ventilated and protected from direct sunlight.

  The storage bin should be waterproof and moisture-proof.
